The band that “saved summer” (ABC News, Gothamist ) was born in 2015 when lead singer, Claudi (all pronouns), moved from Puerto Rico to NYC to fulfill her dream of playing in the subway. Two years after arriving, Claudi quit her day job and became a “fixture at the Delancey Street Station” (New York Times). She quickly gained a following, including Paul Banks, of Interpol, who called one of her performances “absolutely epic. This music turned my soul” and NOFX who brought them on their European tour in 2022.
“Claudi is a colorful and original amalgam of her loves and influences: ’20s jazz… “obviously, Billie Holiday… doo-wop… punk...” Put that together in the body of a gender-bending Latinx artist obsessed with children’s books and possessed of unfettered, unrestrained creativity and you get Pinc Louds.”
